The add/edit view is a bit of a mess. A more streamline way of sorting envelopes would be a godsend. Even if just labeled “groups” automatically game together, that would be a wonderful start, but the option to sort alphabetically only makes sense. The envelopes and their groups look great on the home page! A similar view with the dropdown arrows on groups would be a far more attractive and less overwhelming interface within the add/edit view as well.
It just is not a fun task to manually sort envelopes, especially when you’re creating several new ones – the click and drag method is a bit slow and glitchy at times. I’ve had the save button stop working on occasion, so my changes aren’t kept at all. Not entirely sure what’s happening. But I am noticing certain features to be easier on mobile and others easier on desktop, so perhaps I just need to get the hang of things.

Another thing that would streamline the editing process would be a way to edit certain envelope details without having to go into the add/edit screen. Sometimes I need to change the name of or the amount for an envelope while I’m reviewing transactions (specifically within the single envelope’s window/view). I know this only removes a single added step in the process, but it’s quite frustrating due to the first add/edit sorting issue.

Excited to watch this app continue to grow! I came from Mvelopes and have bounced around quite a bit before landing here. Definitely like what you’re doing and see immense potential! Thank you for Goodbudget.

I would like to see a warning notification pop up if you have already filled that envelope for the month. A sort of warning if you are over filling and therefore overspending, or just accidentally filled the envelope twice.

Hi Amanda – Thanks for the suggestion! In the past, we’ve opted to keep the Transactions tab on mobile simple and not overcrowd it with too much information. But, I can see why having the ability to change the Status of transactions while on mobile would be helpful. I’ve added your request to our features tracker for future consideration. Thanks!

Would love to have the status column available on the app so that i do not have to log in to the website to mark transactions cleared each time I check my online banking.

If the date/amount/"payee" field were all the same in the entry box where you can toggle between expense/credit, transfer, and income, when you started entering and suddenly realized you are in the wrong tab, you wouldnt have to start all over again once you change tabs.

Something else, it is quite often that when I am trying to enter a new transfer, that I don’t realize that I’m actually entering information in the “Expense/Credit” dialog instead. I’ve typically already filled in the date, Payee, and Amount. When I then select the “Transfer” tab, it erases all my entries, and I must start over. That is quite aggravating and a big time waster. I recommend that the information already entered be copied over to the “Transfer” tab.
